Killer Instinct #5 is the fifth of the six issues of the rebooted Killer Instinct series. It was released on January of 2018.
Synopsis[]
The Coven launch a missile attack drawing the unwanted attention of ARIA. Meanwhile, Kim Wu, Jago and Tusk must journey to the Astral Plane in hopes of discovering why the Guardians have abandoned them. The answer to this mystery, however, reveals a new horror they are unprepared to face.
Plot[]
Without the Eye of the Ancients, Aganos sheds his golem body and his mind remains inside the gemstone. As the Coven's missiles fly towards the island, Kan-Ra performs a ritual that transports the three heroes into another dimension.
Back at the Coven base, the True Tsar awaits for the missiles to impact. However, ARIA suddenly appears on the computer screens, her intelligence having infiltrated the Coven's database. She redirects the missiles towards several Coven hideouts in the Mediterranean, obliterating them all. She then forces the Tsar to do as she says.
Jago, Tusk, and Kim Wu find themselves in the Astral Plane. They are attacked by a group of monsters, who they manage to defeat even without their weapons. The trio continues, finally coming across a mysterious capsule of sorts. A booming voice resonates from within, and a reborn Gargos emerges.
