Ichoriens are a race of astral beings that first appeared in Killer Instinct (2013).

History[]

The Ichoriens, also known as Light Lords, were benevolent demi-gods who used to live and lead the Astral Plane long before the existence of Gargos. When he began to conquer the Astral Plane, the Ichoriens created the Guardians, powerful beings who were standing against Gargos and his minions and had the abilities to give humans superhuman abilities so they could fight against the Shadow Lord.

During an attempt of Gargos invanding the Earth, the Ichoriens once found Eyedol, gave him Shadow Energy and chose him to fight Gargos. Unfortunately, Eyedol's heart was tainted with darkness, thus he became another Shadow Lord. Many years later, the barbarian warrior Tusk was almost killed, until the Ichoriens intervened, infused him with Shadow Energy, making him immortal then sent a Guardian in the form of Warg-Gram, his sword, and sent him back to Earth to continue his duel with Gargos. Shortly afterwards, they sent Tusk to hunt Eyedol, imprisoned him in the Astral Plane after realizing what he had become.

In the meantime, the Ichoriens also sent a Guardian to Kim Wu's maternal Korean family for over two thousand years, known as Yeouiju, a second one in the form of a katana wielded once by Hisako's father and the last one known as Weyekin, who would later assist Eagle.

However, despite all their efforts, all of them were killed by Gargos and their power stolen, safe one whom he imprisoned his spirit in a stone; the last remaining Ichorien would be later known as Aganos. Their deaths also destroyed the barrier that held Eyedol's prisoner, and thus, they fought again, this time Gargos emerging victorious.

Shadow Lords' events[]

After the Ichoriens' death, the Guardians fled the Astral Plane and sealed it off so that Gargos could never corrupt another world.

Unfortunately, Gargos managed to use his telepathic abilities to manipulate Kan-Ra into reopening the gateway between the two worlds, and thus, the battle between the Shadow Lord and the humans began again.

During the war, Jago went to ask Kim Wu to join The Alliance as she was wielding one of the last Guardians who could oppose Gargos. As he defeats an Omen, he fought against the Shadow Lord, only for him to be beaten and brought back to Earth.

Meanwhile, Kan-Ra tried to awaken the former champion of the Ichorien Eyedol, however, it turned to be a failure as he went rogue and attacked anyone who stood in his way against Gargos. Against all odds, Eyedol finally accepted to ally himself with the Alliance in order to defeat Gargos.

As Tusk plunged Warg-Gram into Gargos' Heart, his body couldn't contain the life forces he stole from the other Shadow Lords and the Ichoriens, and exploded in nothing more than Shadow Energy.

Post Shadow Lords[]

Despite their victory against the evil Shadow Lord, the war left many scars. One day, Kim Wu, Tusk and Jago lost their connection with their own Guardians, thus they began investigating what happened.

When they reach out Kan-Ra and Aganos for help, they went back to the Astral Plane and discovered in horror that Gargos survived his downfall and bagan attacking the 3 warriors. As Gargos was about to finish them, Aganos intervened, once as the golem warrior, and a second time as the last remaining Ichorien. Struggling against Gargos, Aganos sealed himself and Gargos' soul into the Astral Plane, forever this time.
