The Boxing Gym is a stage from the original Killer Instinct. It is TJ Combo's main stage.

Description[]

The gym is a stereotypical boxing gym, complete with various work-out equipment strewn about, posters of TJ Combo himself on the walls and a boxing ring in the center of the stage, although the fighters engage outside of the ring itself.

Music[]

The boxer's classic theme, "Yo Check This Out!", is composed and mixed by Robin Beanland. (NOTE: Some of the lyrics shouted are also heard in another Killer Cuts track, "It's A Jungle")

OST Lyrics[]

Yo check this out!

1, 2, 3,
Break it down!

Get busy (YOU GOT IT!)
Get busy (YOU GOT IT!)
Get busy (YOU GOT IT!)
Get busy (1, 2, 3, KICK IT!)

1, 2, 3,
Break it down!

KICK IT!
KICK IT!
KICK IT!
KICK IT!

Trivia[]

  • It is assumed that this original stage is the Combo Gym that is mentioned in TJ's rebooted backstory, as well as his new theme song and advertised/represented on his t-shirt for Killer Instinct (2013), which means that this stage is located in the city of Chicago, the same location as the City's Rooftop or the Alley.
    • The theory is supported in TJ's first match in Rivals Mode against Retro Fulgore, where, even though the battle is in the Training Stage/Dojo since there wasn't enough in the 2013 reboot's budget (as well as dealing with time constraints) to remake and remaster the original KI1 stages, it still showed the Gym in the background.
